Burgate has welcomed wayfarers, pilgrims, and townspeople since Saxon times. Our restaurant and lounge occupies a restored brick sanctuary facing the medieval rooflines of the Cathedral quarter. We’ve designed Ola Hola as an antidote to the rushed dining experience: terracotta hearth tones, natural Kentish lime wash, reclaimed iroko timbers, and the aroma of woodfire scotch bonnet glazes and plantain braises.
Whether arriving for an unhurried Sunday afternoon lunch with heritage dishes or sitting late into the evening for small bites and Caribbean rum expressions, you are held in warm hospitality.
